Designing Rwanda's government e-services portal for 8 million users

IremboGov, Rwanda’s online portal to access government services, launched a no-code platform enabling institutions to build and manage services. While the backend accelerated development, success hinged on two crucial interfaces: the Citizen and Agent Portals. I led their redesign to ensure universal accessibility of e-government services for citizens and foreigners.

I created mobile-first, multilingual, and privacy-focused interfaces. By simplifying forms, improving service discovery, and document management, I made services more accessible and aligned with Rwanda's national goals of speed and inclusion.

Expanding access to public services across Rwanda through self-service

While IremboGov offered digital services, challenges like limited internet, slow processes, and overwhelmed staff made service delivery difficult. To address this, we introduced the self-service suite: tablet-based kiosks in public areas, enabling users to apply for services, pay fees, and track applications without visiting an office.

To support in-person help, I also designed the Service Center Portal. It gives managers tools to schedule shifts, onboard staff, and track performance, while agents can apply for services and take payments on behalf of citizens. Clear workflows for each role saved time and helped applicants get real support when needed. These tools improved access, lowered staff workload, and helped Irembo serve more people more efficiently.

Redesigning Africa’s fastest-growing ticketing platform to empower its next 100K users

Events create lasting memories and vibrant communities. Tix, a Nigerian startup, empowers event organisers with tools to connect with audiences, optimise venue operations, and enable fans to discover and purchase tickets. After validating market demand by processing over $40,000 in ticket sales with their founder-built platform, Tix sought to enhance its user experience.

As the sole designer, I collaborated with founders, product managers, and engineers to identify usability issues in the beta. I then led a redesign to simplify the platform, improving mobile accessibility and introducing built-in discovery tools. The redesign boosted organiser productivity and user engagement, enabling Tix's successful expansion into Ghana and South Africa and growth alongside Africa's booming events industry.

Transforming event check-ins into seamless, data-driven operations

Managing events should be as exciting as attending them. But in Nigeria, the gap between vision and execution is filled with friction: Manual payments, unreliable POS systems, uncoordinated staff, zero real-time data, and lengthy check-in queues kill the vibe of even the best events. The original Tix Organizer app, launched in 2020, solved one crucial piece of the puzzle: guest check-ins.

Building on the success of the web dashboard redesign, I rebuilt the app into a full event-management tool. The new app scans tickets in under three seconds, accepts card payments on site, shows live sales figures, and gives staff the right access levels. It cut door wait times, raised on-site revenue, and put Tix on track to serve large festivals.

Simplifying how guests discover, plan,
 and attend live events

Every marketplace needs both buyers and sellers to succeed. We created tools to help organizers set up events, sell tickets, and manage attendees through an improved web dashboard and mobile app. However, something important was missing; we were only focusing on organizers.

I collaborated with engineers and stakeholders to identify attendee pain points and map user journeys. The insights helped guide the strategic decision to build attendee features directly into our existing app rather than creating a separate one. My solution simplified event discovery, streamlined ticket purchases, and made an easy-to-use ticket wallet. The result was a smooth experience for attendees, quicker check-ins at events, and increased sales for organizers.
